McGufeys New First Eclectic Reader, 1882

Laguna Indian Translation of McGufeyf’s [sic] New First Eclectic Reader, 1882, Laguna Mission Press. Menaul acquired copies of this popular lesson book, produced and printed a Keres translation of the English text on his Washington Hand Press. He then sent the work to Albuquerque where the Reader was taken apart, interleaved with translations and rebound according to instructions that Menaul, a meticulous and precise man, took considerable time to hand set and print.
