Cylinder Press
view enlarged panelInvented by Friedrich Koenig in 1811 and developed in this country in the last half of the 19th century, this press makes use of a cylinder to impress the paper upon the type. Run by hand or powered by steam, the cylinder press marked a major transformation in the printing trade.
